RE: ipod connection for 2004 rx8
I looked into this a LOT for a while and the conclusion I came to is that there is no easy way to deal with it. I asked the dealership if they would upgrade the radio, but the answer was basically that I would have to buy a new radio. There is an outfit online that will upgrade the radio if you send it to them, but I just can't see doing that.
Since I've got a Sirius Stilleto also I ended up going to plan B and just pulled the radio, added on the direct wired FM converter, and called it a day. Not quite CD quality, but my Stilleto does store music as well as playing the satellite channels so it'll have to do.
Oh, there is one other option (though the information for this was a little old and I could never confirm that it works with the older radios). There is a guy that makes a board that will plug into the MD/Tape port on the radio so it will make an aux audio input emulate that. However, this solution wouldn't give you iPod controls through the radio like the ICELink and other solutions do.
