Question Help before purchase

I am thinking of purchasing an RX8, but the one i have found has a few issues. Apparantly it will not idle. It can be a pig to start when warm. If it is bump started when it is warm it runs, but not for long.
Has anyone had this problem, and is it an easy fix ?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Or should i steer well clear and find a good runner ?
Many thanks
Andy

While they can be great cars, RX's can be finicky and require regular maintenance. Unless you are getting a spectacular deal on this one and are prepared to deal with them, I'd keep looking.

Is the check Engine light on? What is the year & mileage of the car? Could be coils, plugs or wires. Could also be the engine. Has the owner had all flashes from Mazda done?

I have been told that the Coils, plugs etc have all been changed. I am not sure but i have been told there is an uprated starter motor for these, however i cant see that would make much difference to the running problems. As far as the flashes, i am not sure if they have been done.
I'm in two minds on this one. Could be a simple fix, or a right pain and a shed load of money !

I'd say that's a very good mindset to be in under the circumstances, Andy.
And from the little I know about them you might very well be right.
My only recommendation is this: Rotary cars are a world unto themselves. There are fewer rotorheads than there are gearheads out there, and its hard enough to get answers to questions about more traditional cars with the way they are today.
If you don't know about them (RX's) or cannot take the time or afford to learn about them (limited time/budget,) in essence commit yourself to it, then I personally would suggest looking to a more traditional cars.
I'm not trying to dissuade you, though it probably seems like I am, but you definitely need to ask yourself a few serious questions before getting involved in what as you say, could be a quick, easy fix, or a major undertaking.
I sincerely wish you luck with whatever you decide to do.
