Default Electronics problem

Hi there,
Just wondered if anyone is having the same problem as me with the electronics on there RX-8, and if so do you know how to solve it.
Driving to work today and the controls for the stereo on the steering wheel decided to stop working, parked up and turned the engine off to see if that would resolve the problem. Went to turn the engine back on and nothing came up on the dashboard. After about ten second it flashed into life, with the DSC light flashing on and off. It has now become very intermittant with turning on.
Does anyone know if it's just something simple that I can resolve myself, or will it require a trip to Mazda and a hefty bill?

Have never run accross this problem but a few questions. Did the audio system operate normally from the controls on the dash? When this occurs next time see if the power windows and power door locks also stop working along with the other problems or is there anything else that stops working when this happens. Might have lost power thru the 30A BTN fuse circuit. DSC light always flashes when the module has lost power.

The stereo controls on the dash were still working it was just the controls on the steering wheel that weren't. The auto function on the windows wasn't working either. It's currently at Mazda now, just waiting for the bad news. Thanks for the help.
