well, there are some serious issues with this swap as far as wiring goes. the fc harness can be modified to be used on the fd motor, but it isn't easy. to keep it simple, just watch where the sensors unplug and use those wires for the fd sensors. you will need the pig tails from them to tie them in, but you may be able to find a donor who will leave those intact.

a little piece of advice that i have is to get the entire harness from an fd and replace your harness with it.

my question is, why do you want to do the swap? you are going to have to swap for a single turbo for tuning and management purposes. that is at least a grand by itself. also, the motor doesn't make a whole lot more power. you are looking at about 40 more hp stock compared to stock. i have seen the 13b-tt motor make 700 hp or so with some ridiculous mods. the 13b-t can make about 650 hp on the same money. odds are that you aren't going to hit that limit.

with a 13b-t motor, you should be able to hit about 350 on a hybrid turbo, an aggressive port, and stand-alone engine management. a stock t2 rear and trans will be able to handle that power. if you go above that, you need to build a trans for it (not the stock trans, i recommend a ford t-5), swap the differential, do half-shafts with inner and outer cv's, an aggressive clutch, and you will need to figure out some way to keep all of that power down on the ground.

what motor do you currently have?

Ouch!! That does sound like a lot for a little extra.
Performance is so expensive and hard to achieve these days on many modern cars. And computer control was supposed to make that easier? I guess the car co's and government got us pretty good on that one.

Well i bought the engine a year ago and just getting to it i originally have the 13b n/a. I spent 1900 on the TT and i would have no problem just going with the 13b-t but i dont wanna lose out in 1900 plus i got a 500$ centerforce clutch and some other items so i would be really losing out in around $2800 if i could sell it all for around 2100 i would just take the loss but whos gonna buy it....

if you have a base model, you have bigger problems than you realize.

read posts 3 through 6 in that thread and that is where you need to start. there are management issues you will need to address after you get the motor installed, but it is the least of your worries.

just remember this; replacement parts are in multiples of $100 for the fc while the replacement parts for the fd motor are in multiples of 200. on top of that, you wont be able to reuse the wiring harness without serious modification. if you stay in the same series, you will be able to modify the existing harness.

also, check out this website. they sell the motor and transmission in one package and they occasionally have rear ends and other parts.
