I was so close. Again... However life has a funny way of working out... This is where the story turns. Had a falling out with my two friends. Saw the end of the rotary happen in 2015 and the profiteering start and faced the realization that I wanted a specific house more than this car. So I decided to go ahead and sell it. Turns out that the car was worth a bit more with the chassis without the kit and rims and so that is how it went. The car sold to a guy in washington the day I listed it. He came down for it instantly. The other kid came up from medford and bought a pair of rims and the kit. The motor went to a build locally and the little stuff was all passed on to enthusiasts.


I have since watched the kit change hands a couple times. It made its way from there to Vegas where it was made pink and turned into a strip show car. I noticed not too long after that buckie lang ended up with it and is now making it into something new. The front bumper seems to have been destroyed during all that, but the kits still looks good on his FD!

 

I ended up inheriting a couple hundred acres and went a different route for a couple years and have really enjoyed watching the car and the kit become what they have and seeing peoples designs with it!

 

And then he sold it!

 

It appears there is one other kit in the country that is going around. I thought it was my old one until I found out Tom imported the yellow one, minus the front bumper, and he had started building this thing. Buckey is one of my fans and I enjoy watching his builds. I heard that imitation is the highest form of flattery.

(update, the incomplete kit on buckey's car is from circut theory (tom) and is not the complete kit, so it is still alive and well in the states as the only one in the USA!)


Honestly it is fun being the only person in the world to have had one of these real early blister kits. Only 8 ever made, only redbull and a few race teams and me. Not sad I let it go, I grew out of the scene, but nice to have been a part of history!

 

Little update on the old BN sports FD set up, its still alive! The guys offering tech sessions and still has it. The bumper is still fitting like it did when I had it, I never could get it much better than that and cant say I miss its frustrations. Its cool to see it still out there and being one of the first imported original kits!
