Have what I seem to be told a 88 RX7.....This much I know says GX on the side of the car but seems to have LOTS of GXL features....Runs really well only has 160.000kms on it....Runs great no burning or leaking anything etc etc....Clock seems messed sometimes works sometimes doesnt seem to hold the time....seat belt light never goes off... makes weird clicks and beeps here and there....anyway

Im not driving my car hard but I filled it up and so far Im nearing 1/4 tank left and I only gone 200kms !!!! I mean this thing is NOT being all that good on gas............ any ideas?

The rotary engine has never been good on efficient. It has the highest power to weight ratio of any engine in the world but unfortunately, it is one of the most inefficient engines! It consumes alot of oil and gasoline. It is just the way it is!

 

Surely it can get better mileage or something can be done is this usal gas mileage for the cars?

 

Not sure how it works in kms, but i have gotten 20-21mpg at best. Around town i would say i normally see about 17-18 with a little bit of spirited driving.
