First mazda, need abit of help
Hi Ihave justbought my first mazda, an RX7 2.6. I have a few small probs thoughfirstly the main lights wont pop up on their own and the main beams wont come on either, the guy said its just a fault relay, any idea on this. The back lights and side lights are fine
Lastly there is a problem with the car not taking over right. The rev needle drops to under 10k revs then dies out, but if i just barely thouch the rev and hold it at 10k its 100%, maybe the rev cable has just got abit too loose. Anything else I should know about warming the engine up or leaving it idle before turning if off.
Thanks very much
Conor

RE: First mazda, need abit of help
Just to clear it up, the engine is a 1.3l Concerning the light issue. There is a headlamp relay & a retractor relay. I doubt that the would both be bad, but eh, who knows. And do you mean 1000rpm. If you were holding it at 10k, that motor would have gone south of the border already.

RE: First mazda, need abit of help
alright. I just got a 1983 RX-7. It's kinda beat and mostlikely hasn't been driven for the past 5-6 years. mind you that that's a very liberal and generous estimate, it's probably closer to between 7 and 10 years. I just want to know how i should start to repair this and get it drivable. I know I for sure need a new Battery, probably spark plugs and wires. but should i get the engine and transmition rebuilt? I'll have more information once i talk to my grandpa who was the previous owner, see if he knows what any of the problem might be, bu ti just wanted someone's opinion on how i should start. I'd really appreciate it thanks.
