Default 1990 GXL with Engine Problem

I have a 1990 GXL in black with 130K miles. The car is in good to very good condition except for one thing: The rebuilt 13B engine that I had installed in 2003 at 108K miles has recently developed a leak across an internal water seal. From my limited understanding of the internals of these engines, I think this may require replacing the engine. Since these engines implode now and then, I wonder whether there is a market among enthusiasts for these cars in good and usable condition that need significant engine work.

Or, do I need to replace the engine myself in order to have a car that is worth more than scrap value?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. The car is in Seattle.
