Default Whistling exhaust

Howdy fellow mazda owners. I have a 02 protege5 auto and every time I rev the engine past 4000 rpms, it will start to sound like I have one of those turbo whistles. However that's not the case here. My exhaust system is completely stock and isn't rusted. This a very strange phenomenon and I'm curious if anybody else had this happen and what was done to fix it (without replacing the exhaust system)

Does it whistle when you rev up or when you back off the throttle?

First, you need to lift the hood, and listen carefully to determine where it's coming from. Does it sound more like a bearing whine or a leak. From front or back, firewall or radiator side.

If it whistles when you let off the throttle, it's likely an intake leak.

It only does it when I rev it up and it's louder at the back. I'm thinking it may be a clogged converter but not entirely sure. I won't know till I get a new converter and/or pre-cat

I have found the problem. It was due to a clogged muffler not a converter
