Default Two Door Screws Closest To Dash

I'm going to make a very long story shorter. Had a Paint & Body Shop replace my door and when I got the door back, when I opened & closed the door it made a snapping or popping sound right at the halfway mark of opening or closing. As I did not want this shop who I have no faith in to fix it the way they should have in the first place, I noticed 2 Screws on the Door. I tightened these screws and it stopped the Snapping popping sound. I guess my question is, what do those screws hold together inside of the door. Can someone explain. Thanks in advance.

Now I feel like a jerk.

They are NUTS (Washers),not Screws.

I tightened with a Pliers (not a screwdriver).

I'm no mechanic, thats for sure. Go on Laugh, it's OK.

Sounds like the door check. This basicly holds the door open so it doesnt close onto you.

So having these bolts loose would cause a Popping/Snapping sound ? Are they suppose to be tightened all the way ? Thanks.

Yes it would cause a nasty sound.

Thank you kind sir, that is the answer I was looking for. Can you believe that a Paint & Body shop that my Mazda Dealer suggested could be so stupid ? This is after the other 5 mistakes they made, that I had not mentioned, just to not rant & rave. Thank you.

No problem. Body shops generally suck at mechanics. They usually hire 3rd grade mechanics to do the nuts/bolts/wires of cars. Some just make the bodyman do it all. They have no real training in mechanics so expect the worst.

I don't know. I always believed that if you do a job, you complete it from A-Z and check your work afterwards. I guess I should of had a hint of what I was in for when.

1. He forgets to order my Door
2. When Door finally comes in, he says he lost my Phone Number
3. He gives me major attitude when I confront him about 1 & 2.
4. My Rain Guard falls off as I'm driving home.
5. My Door makes a snapping sound and I have to find the 2 loose bolts.

all in all one bad experience.
