Default Trouble Diagnosis

I have a 95 mazda protege 1.5L. A couple of months ago, it started backfiring when i accelerate from a dead stop. Then, it would start rough or i would have to give it gas to start. And it also idles rough at low rpm's. I suspect it might be the fuel pump, but have been also considering it could be the fuse or the relay. Anyone have any other thoughts?

Default RE: Trouble Diagnosis

Start with the normal tune up stuff (plugs, cap, wires, rotor) The work your way up the food chains on the electrical side. Idle should be around 900 rpm in gear. Check the fuel filter and try some Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner.
