2001 Mazda Protégé 2.0L automatic with about 220,000 miles on it. When initially placed in drive, hot or cold, there is a lag of a second or two before it engages and you can move off. Once engaged it shifts just fine, no codes or lights. It has never had it's transmission fluid or filter changed. Do it or leave it alone or what about some type friction modifier? About to let a 16 year old have it and it will be too far away to easily deal with.
