Default 1991 Mazda 626 - Starter Won't engage

Earlier yesterday it took a few turns of the ignition before the starter engaged. Now it won't start at all. Is the starter bad or might it be something else?

It would be best to make sure you are getting power to the starter when you turn the key to start.. You need to locate the solenoid wire on top of the starter. It is the smaller gauge wire. Use a test light while someone tries to start. If it lights up, then it is a starter problem.
