replaced the clutch slave unit.

it is located in the center of the car, near the front bumper.
i did all the work without even jacking up the car.

there is an annoying bracket that is running right were you need to work,
but its not that bad.

i did run a few long strips of duct-tape along the edges of it and some plastic guard areas so i wouldnt cut my hands up.

Uninstall
1. removed the hydraulic line first. 10mm
2. removed both 12mm bolts

reinstall
1. start the hydraulic line finger tight first.
2. re-install both 12mm bolts and tighten, then tighten the hydraulic line.
3. have someone pump the clutch pedal down about 20 times then hold the pedal down. while they have the pedal held down, loosen the 8mm bleed screw a few seconds you will hear air comming out at first, then tighten it but not too tight.
repeat untill there is no more air comming out of the bleed screw only brake fluid.
also add brake fluid into the brake master cylinder every once in a while.

only used a few tools to get both the clutch master and slave units on.

10mm wrench/socket.
12mm wrench/socket.
8mm wrench
ratchet with short and long extensions.
pliers.

 

if everything is good, you are done. if your clutch releases too low, close to the firewall then adjust the clutch pedal by unscrewing the adjustment (the rod that goes into the master cylinder. when unscrewing from the pedal, it goes in to the master cylinder). if the release is too high, screw it in to the clutch pedal.

 

yea it has pressure now, but it still feels a little funky.

between running around to friends and family this week
(catching fires/turkeys/xmas trees/black friday),
i havent had time.

will test out this weekend and update.

if it feels funny, like you have to fight it to get it in first gear some times, adjust the pedal by screwing into the master cylinder, and replace the bushings. for the stick shift control rod.
