Proffesional input needed: car: 2002 mazda protege 5, 2.0L, auto, 175,000k Symptoms: Trani shifts well from gears one to three. When driving over 120K/h the O/D light comes on blinking and it stays until I slow down to second gear (around 60k/h) sometimes it feels like a strong "glitch" in the tranni that it shifts from fourth gear to second causing the car to shake. ALSO, when driving above 120k/h the RPM jumps up and down from 2500 to 5000. Maintenance: first symptoms came over a week ago when the check engine light came on together with the over drive light. I scanned the computer and the error was a 503 err (vehicle speed sensor) which was replaced. The check engine light does not come on anymore but the O/D light does! the car still drives and shifts well. No noticable change. ABS fuse is off, disabling the ABS after my left rear ABS sensor blew out (if anybody knows where I can get that for cheap msg me pls) ABS was disabled for over a year. Trani fluid was replaced around 30k ago, level is good, color is red and doesn't have a burning smell. Possible cause: Problem with the higher gears resulting with the Over Drive not to work properly on the fourth gear. I consulted with a "trani specialist" and he insists the problem resides inside the trani in the form of a pressure problem or a leak. I could not relate to that since he could not formally explain to me the procedure hes going to take after he has disassembled the trani (ironic $600 service) Serious suggestions please email me: minussadbuttrue(at)gmail(dot)com

 

My main concern is if it is an electrical err/fault or a mechinacal which resides in the disassembly of the complete trani. Since I have allready checked for errs and did not recieve any I am not sure of how to procceed in fixing this. If you have any recomendations please advice me promptly before my trani dies
