Default trans problem

mM daughter has a 97 LX everything was fine until I decided to clean battery acid of post, sprayed cleaner and then washed off with water hose. This is where trouble started, water got intomass air flow sensor messed up idle change plugs, wires, distrubtor cap and roto button before found water in sensor. Cleaned and sprayed with contact cleaner, idle is fine now but sometimes car will not down shift when you stop. Trans stays in high gear you can shift it to low with gear shift lever and it will change. Does not do it every time you stop. Any help would be appericated.

Check all the electrical connections to the transmission. They are under the battery tray. Also check the grounds. If you had this problem with water getting in, you should try to hit all the connections with spray silicone after you get it all together. If the tranny is not giving you a code, it is more than likely an electrical thing.
