I just bought a 95 protege for 600 bucks. its a 5 spd and when i start out in first and let out of the clutch it jumps like im in to high of gear. The motor cuts out then gets back in then back out and so on. when I bump it up to second it goes good till about 3000 rpms then does the same thing again. 3 through 5 work fine though. just wondering if anyone could give me some clues as to what might cause this. Im good with cars but its my first mazda!
