I'm trying to change my thermostat in my 94 protege 1.8. Yesterday I took out the old one and put in the new one but it kept slipping downwards before i could get the housing on. Well I figured that the housing would push it into place and of coarse I was wrong and broke the housing while tightening it. I got another housing today from the wreckers and tried holding the thermostat in place with silicone but that didn't work either. Can you guys recommend something else to hold that t-stat in place long enough to get that housing on? Thanks
