Squealing clutch pedal
Hey guys, i'm new around here, fyi. Well, my car has been making a squealing noise from around the drivers side of the car. When i press in the clutch pedal, it goes away, and when i let off, it comes back; it also goes away if i tap the pedal very lightly. I was wondering if you guys know what this is. I replaced the clutch last year, and its going in for a routine check up tomorrow at the transmisson place.
I don't think this is too serious. Get an aerosol graphite spray, shake well, and with the tube attached, wiggle in into the neoprene dust boot where the slave actuator goes into the clutch bell, and give it a good shot of lube in there.
Now remove the tube and spray up into the pedal linkage area under the dash, lubricating the pivot, pull- off spring, and linkage. Now work the pedal vigorously by hand a dozen times or so and I think you'll find the noise is gone, and the clutch action feels "crispier".
