Spark Plugs & Wires Which are the best for my car?
I would add this bit of info. I tried platinum plugs in my car. I ended up replacing the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I was told by the local dealer not to use platinum plugs in my 94 Mazda Protege with the BP DOHC engine. Given that those wires can be pricey, I'm taking the advice. I had to eat the platinum plugs, wires, cap and rotor to learn that lesson.
Oh, the cheap wires at AutoZone or something last about a week. Then it becomes a light show under the hood and misses like crazy. I learned the lesson to use what is supposed to be on it and not to ruin a good thing. By the way, I get about 30 mpg with my little car. 27 to 28 with the A/C running.
I use NGK whenever possible. That was what was on it when I bought it.
Just thought I would mention it in case you try this and have trouble. Maybe since your engine is different it will work.
