my 2000 protege bellows out white smoke for about :30 seconds when it first starts up after sitting overnight or long periods. it also idles roughly, but once moving, runs pretty good. the idling problem started before the smoke; not sure if connected. after the car has been running, turn off, then start within short period of time, no smoke but some difficulty starting. Is this an egr problem? I've read possibly head gasket leak but oil looks fine (color) and anti freeze stays topped off. have brought to two places, code shows faulty fuel injector, had replaced, no change. scratching my head on this one. thanks for any ideas.
