rpms for a 95 protege

i got a 95 protege an when i do 70 im at 3000 rpm which is kinda high and to be in fifth gear so is this normal or is the a way to lower engine rpm

My 1996 1.8l runs at 2700rpm at 70 mph, Soo , if you have a 1.5l, I would say 3000 rpm isn't that far off...

yeah, sounds right to me. these small cars are designed for high rpm's
