Default Rebuilt engine, lifted intake camshaft and broke

Its a 2.0L, 5 speed manual. We rebuilt the engine (new gaskets, bored it out, new pistons, rings, lifters) and its setup for a turbo, it ran amazing for a while I drove it about 100 miles on the rebuild then one day I did a pull in 3rd and the intake camshaft lifted on the side and broke. I assume its due to not tightening a bolt which would be my fault as I was the one who put the top end in. I'm just wondering the extent of the damage I've done? What all should I replace and am I gonna have to go through the pain of removing my engine again? Thanks for any advice!

Welcome to the forum

Yes there is something you missed that step. to do.It happens.
If you are lucky you should only need to replace the cam shaft and the *cam bearing (*if applicable) and maybe *cam caps? It is almost a common since question that if you think about it with your experience, anything that looked damaged should be replaced? What I would be the most concerned with if you spun a bearing and the material went through the engine?
