do you have a dyno sheet to prove that 20-25 hp is reasonable from i/h/e combo? because i know a guy who dynoed a p5 with obx-r header, 2.5 inch catback, and an injen cai and got a grand total of 6 whp. 20 -25 is not reasonable for an fs-ze engine, so i just want to know where you are getting these ideas. i myself have a cai and 2.25 in catback, and i noticed gains but they were not a 22% power gain.

those aren't going to be considered wheel hp gains, since most people speak in flywheel. also, it comes down to a few other factors. a header + catback still leaves the stock midpipe which causes a fair amount of restriction.

even with all of this considered, you still need to get tuned. bolt-ons will still leave you with the stock parameters on the ecu. real gains will be realized after a tune. bottom line is this; n/a with the stock bottom end and stock cams will still leave you with only about 12 extra WHEEL hp after you dump money into tuning and bolt-ons. expect to spend a lot on n/a if you want big numbers.

actually most people like us speak in whp, because it is actually used, not lost. and the guy did have an sls midpipe

Oh boy, here we go again...

Folks, If any of you are inclined to attempt to follow the misguided recommendations of dbmazda, be forwarned, the guy has absolutely no idea what he's talking about; so much so that if you do some of the things he recommends you may irrepairably damage your car.

Where can i get a mp3 ecu? Ive installed a header/intake/exhaust already and wouldn't mind a little more power. I also have a 02 protege 2.0L.

you've convered a lot of internal modifications to the car. I have a 2002 maxda protege LX and im wondering what external modifications i can make to the car that give it a nice touch. I'm wondering what modifications I can do to "zaz" it up, how much it would cost and where I can get it.

been a while since I have checked on this thread.

skip the chip and do an mp3 ecu upgrade or reflash. I know a guy in san antonio who can help you out with an mp3 reflash. I will talk to him and see if he will let me hand out his e-mail address.

as for modifications, check out protegegarage.com and corksport.com
they have lots of intakes, headers, and exhausts there to give your car a little more pep.
