Default protege tech help

I bought an 01 protege lx 1.6L and its cruise control equipped, but no lights ever come on and its not working. the fuse is good and the shop manual pretty much just tells you a sequence to count the light flashing to get a diag code essentially and even doing the sequence the light never shows, I can hear clicking when you press the switch and I think its coming from the cruise control module in the passenger side kick panel. is this a part known to go bad? does anyone know if it would cause the light never to come on? and if I replace it will it need any reprogramming with a scan tool?
thanks!

Default misfire help

i was also wondering if anyone else had the misfire problem I'm having I tried two different sets of new plugs new OEM coils and wires, replaced the CAT, replaced the upstream O2 sensor and I'm still having a random misfire only if I start it and let it warm up then when I drive it goes away. and if I start it up and immediately start driving it will never do it, I'm worried its going to clog my new cat. I measured the resistance in all the injectors granted it was when the engine was cold but all 4 had the correct ohm for the ambient temperature when I checked them. thank you!

The problem is likely related to the cruise control module, located on the passenger side, which is a known component to fail on this model. When faulty, it can prevent both the system from functioning and the warning light from illuminating.

Everything indicates that the passenger-side module is likely faulty, and this is the most common cause of a non-operating cruise control and an unlit warning light on a 2001 Honda Protege LX. Replacing this module should fix both the cruise control and the warning light, and no reprogramming is necessary.
