Protege 2001 reverse-forward long delay.
I'm facing very long delay when switching from R to D. about 10 sec.
And I hear detonation under load. Both issues vary from refill to refill.
What should I start from?

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? What octane gas are you using? You fill up at the same station every time?
