I need some advice on how to replace the power steering hose on my 1995 Mazda Protege LX 1.5 liter engine. The hose is rusted out in one spot and I can't drive her until its fixed.

Please anyone I need help!!!!!!!!!

 

After you put in the new fluid turn the wheel slowly from stop to stop, don't just yank it like Scotty does.

 

Video is wrong for my Protege as the hose is near the firewall and the power steering container is located on the opposite side. I have tried finding a video but no one has one for my 1995 Mazda Protege LX

 

That's correct. The power steering pump is on the right side in the protege.

It still works the same way. Identify the leaking hose, disconnect it on both ends and pull it out. Put the new hose in, add fluid, turn the wheel left and right to remove air bubbles, check the level again and top off if needed.

 

I already found the leak. It's in the back by the firewall. It's completely rusted out. The part that I have a problem with this video is he shows the hose in the front and mine is in the back. It's actually right above the brake line I believe and there's really not much room to get tools in to get it out. The video does nothing for me sorry!
