Default popping noise

My wifes car is a 98 protege and it is now making a popping when turning.. This resulted after the wife's cousin pulled the e-brake when she was pulling into a gravel driveway at a really slow speed. What is it?

Popping how? If it's a sort of metallic sound and correlated to turning, I suggest as a precaution you inspect the constant velocity joints in the front wheel drive train just for the sake of safety and minimizing repair costs. Look for split corrugated neoprene protective boots. I can't imagine though why pulling on the e-brake while turning on gravel would cause this unless of course it was about to happen anyway.

i kinda had a sound like that once but that was because 2 of the lug nuts on the wheel was loose. check your calipers control arm boots anything you can think of that has to do with turning the car. this might be a dumb question but it was a gravel driveway is it just a rock stuck in the tread?
