Default P2006 on 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege

Intake Manifold runner control stuck closed, bank 1

Anyone seen this b4? I checked vacuum hoses for leaks, removed a few electrical connectors and sprayed them with cleaner, but have no idea where the runner is? i've looked by the intake manifold but don't see anything obvious. Is it hidden by airbox? thanks for any help!

Intake runner is inside the manifold. There will be a vacuum operated actuator on the side. With a solenoid sending vacuum to the actuator.

excellent! Ok! What do I have to do to fix this. Please don’t say remove intake manifold. Obviously the vacuum is not working or hose is broken, or solenoid is broken.
solution? Can I force it open externally, any picture of what it looks like external? The Mazdaspeed has NO room to even see near the intake manifold. Thanks!

If you unplug the solenoid, and supply 12v + & - to the terminals, you should hear it click. Also either before or after adding power you should be able to blow thru the solenoid, and not be able without power.

Secondly, with the engine running supply engine vacuum directly to the actuator on the manifold and A: see if it moves & B: does the engine idle & sound change?

Not sure where the vacuum solenoid even is. Little room to see anything. Pic? What part do I need or can I just put a screw in to open it up?

Yes that is the solenoid. Shouldn't mater which terminal gets + or -. It just needs +&- to activate.
