Default Non Mazda question

I asked this question on a dodge forum and they are a bunch of jackasses. I was wondering if anyone can help.
My step-son has a 2000 Neon auto. We replaced the battery and I pulled the alternator out and had it tested and it is good.
The car runs and will stay running but as soon as I turn on something (wipers) it cuts out and will not start as if the battery is completely dead. If I hook up a battery charger it will start fine a few minutes later. Any suggestions?

check the ground on the alternator itself and check the ground on the negative side of the battery. there may be a loose wire in the harness also. final step, don't buy a neon next time!!!
