Hi everyone

I just bought a mazda 323 of year 1999. Someone told me it's known as the PROTEGE on this forum. The frame is BJ5P. I found recently that its a 4WD. I didnt know that this model had the 4WD option. I need more information on this model of mazda. I don't have any technical documents like the manufacturer's specifications, the maintenance manual, etc. Can these be obtained? i want to collect the maximum amount of information on my car. Moreover, i know that my engine type is ZL. But there are two engine model, ZL-DE and ZL-VE. How do i know what is the engine model for my car? what is the difference between the two?

1999 protege's are not 4wd so honestly i didn't even know the 323 came in 4wd it would be a 323. you can get the maintenance maunal at any automotive shop but don't buy a haynze your wasting your time with that book it shows ever picture with the motor out so it won't so you the challenge of getting the parts out and most of the time what it tell you to do won't be on your car like when i was doing my electrical system it told me to find the distributor cap and mine has coil paks so its a sketchy book.

If you think i am kidding, check the above website.. My car is the same as number 4. Its a 4WD sedan, manual transmission, n its frame is BJ5P

 

i believe you i just didn't think they came that way, is it a right hand drive? cause maybe since it was made in japan thats why it has the 4wd option in that year. cause my 2000 mazda protege was made in the usa. check some japanese sites for the book you might be able to find it there
