My 94 Protege is having a starting issue. Sometimes when I turn the key it jsut clicks, it can take anywhere from 2 or 3 turns up to 15 minutes of just turning the key on and off before it starts. When it does start, it starts like nothing was wrong. Other then that the car runs great and has 217K on it. I have replaced the ignition switch, the starter and still hasn't fixed the problem. Anyone had the same issue or know what else could be causing the problem?

 

sounds like a bad ground wire. just jiggle the ground wire off of the neg. side of the battery the next time that it does this and it should fire right up. the fix is to just clean up all of the contacts on the ground wire and bolt it on tighter
