Angry need help 00 protege with cold air intake wont run

so ive got an 00 pretege and i installed a cold air intake system. now it does not want to run ????????? i pieced a kit together from a older protege setup with one of the maf adapter things....when i run the car without the maf it will run just not well till it warms up...so i know its the maf sencor giving me the problem and ive read in other place about how the maf sensor read the air flow different....so my question is how do i get the maf sensor to work with my setup?

Just put the factory intake back on and call it a day, the CAI won't do much to add power to your car anyway.

if i am understanding this right, you have no maf right now? you have to have an maf on stock programming.

this is what an after market intake should look like. the little black box is the maf. you have to mount it inline with the intake. if you have any leaks, it will foul up the maf reading. if the wire inside of the maf gets damaged, you will need a new one. use only a direct replacement for your year model and don't try to frankenstein some parts together that don't go to your car.

when you took out the mass flow air sensor you didn't touch the metal string inside right? because if you did that sensor is shot that metal sting can not be touched. What you can try is going and getting mass flow air sensor cleaner and spraying the sensor really good. But also remember when installing these things you have to unplug the battery for at least 15 min to re set the battery cause from your stock to your cai it will have completly diffrent air readings. you can also get electical cleaner and spray that plug to maybe something got in there while you were installing it. But when you do get it running expect problems for about the next year cause you have to work that filter in and your rpm's are going to be going up and down all the time i have installed 3 cai into my cars and all of them have done that i told myself i will never install another one again ram air is the way to go! lol
