when buying a performance muffler is it important to get the right inlet size?

Not really theres things called adapters .
Not to be partial or anything butif you're looking for one that makes the protege sound amazing get a Dynomax .

yea hes right size dont really matter but u might look into a ractive exhaust they sound real good especially on my 1.6
