Default Metalish Buzzing sound @ 2000RPMS

Hey guys, I am new on here but have poked around a lot. I have a 2000 Mazda protege ES with a little under 16,000 miles on it. I've had a lot of things go on with it in the past two years, but recently (probably the last couple of months) I am hearing a metal like buzz sound coming from the front when I reach 2000RPMS at about 25 mph and about 45 mph. The car doesn't do anything driving wise, just this loud annoying sound that can be heard from both inside the car and the outside. I've done a lot to it recently like a new front axle (the other one will be done next month), new alternator, new radiator, new thermostat, new timing belt, new head gaskets and a couple of other things replaced while doing the timing belt (can't remember the proper names...lets just say most of my engine was taken apart and we found that spring thing bent and under my timing belt, which was VERY loose). I was going to have my mechanic that does my axles drive around with me and listen to it. It's driving me nuts and is rather embarrassing driving through school and my neighborhood and hearing it buzz at me really loud.

Any thoughts?
Thanks so much.

Emily

if its a loud Hum it could be a wheel bearing. If it only does it when moviing and not when you are sitting still then it is likely to be something to do with wheels, tyres, brakes or driveshafts

Is it an auto or manual

It's an automatic. I would have to try while I'm in park. I think it does make the noise, but very briefly...not nearly as long as when I'm driving.

So the noise happens at about 1000 rpms when the car is parked. I would also say it's like a metal scrapping sound. ay, it's so hard to describe.
