Default mazdaspeed protege performance?????

i was browsing the forum and i have a customer who is interested in building a good amount of power with this platform (350+whp). is anybody doing anything serious with these cars? i have been looking and googling for about an hour and havent found anyone making over 220whp. at this point i just dont know where to point for parts to even start. thanks.

yes, there are plenty of people making high horsepower numbers with these cars right now. start here www.mazdas247.com . there are so many msp's there you won't know what to do.

my recommendations for that much power would be to start with the internals, forged pistons, rods, maybe destroke the crank. then work on head work and tranny work. i recommend rebuilding the tranny with a GTX kit. it comes with a revised LSD and some stronger 1st 3rd and 5th gears. you could add a hiboost turbo package to get a little more power, twiggy cams to handle the air and exhaust, adjustable cam gears for tuning, a stand alone fuel management system, coil pack upgrades, and so on and so on and so on. there are a lot of parts for that car and just a few places to find them.

if you want to get 350 whp out of an msp you have a decent amount of work ahead of you, forged internals, bigger turbo..etc
