Cool

Ok i got the axle out, now i the shifter universal joint at the tranny, the pin will not come out. Took nut off and it will not come out, hitting it with 2lb ball peen hammer, no movement at all. Any ideas?

probably just a little seized up. if it looks like you are going to have to break it to separate it, try to cut it loose at the shifter and see if that leaves enough room to pull it. you should be able to cut it loose if you have the extra room once its pulled.

Thanks for all your help wsoape, i got the job done, working good. Just a few issues. The speedo doesn't work. Pulled the old sensor from the old tranny no problem, but the one in the replacement tranny will not come out, its in a tuff spot. Most of the aluminum housing of the sensor broke of trying to get it out. The only way to get it now is to pull the tranny. Needless to say my son is going to have to use his gps for speed now. Also he said he had a bad strut, clunking, so i changed it out only to find out it wasn't, it's the ball joint clunking. Now i have to change it, lower control arm. Wish me luck!
