This will be my first car and I need it for bad weather days/months for going to work and school. I try to ride my bicycle as much as I can. I like this car because it seems reliable, gets good gas milage, and has options for if I take a trip or need to move things.

The price range I'm looking at is 5k and below. Those model have 100-140k miles on them.

What's the average lifespan of the engine/components if it was well maintained?

Are there problems or concerns I should know about?

Any general advice you can offer me?

I plan on paying a mechanic to check out the car before I buy it, other than that I just need a reliable car for 3 years so I can pay off my student loan debt and then I can upgrade to a new car.
