Default Intake/Idle 2003 DX 2.0 L

Have a couple of questions about my 2003 Protege DX, 2.0 L, non-turbo, ATX, a/c, FS engine.

[ol][*]Is the idle adjustable on this model, or is it controlled by the PCM (Control Module) and non-adjustable electronic intake components?[*]What is the purpose of the resonance chamber? The name leads me to believe that it's there to reduce noise, but I'm not sure.[/ol]Thanks.
