Immoboliser/battery Issues
Hi,
I have a major problem with my 1998 323 Protege. I left the lights on and ran the battery dead yesterday. This in turn made the alarm go off. When I heard the alarm I went back to the car and tried to stop it by using the remote on my key ring. This wouldnt work and the alarm continued to go off. I had to leave it over night until the seperate battery on the alarm ran out of power. Today I tried a push start and it felt like it was almost about to start, maybe this is just because I had the car in gear and when I lifted my foot up to get a bite it felt like something was happening. So I am not reading too much into this. So I tried to jump start the car with leads, but absolutely nothing happened, the car was just totally dead. so it appears that the car is still immobolised so I can't even charge it up/start the car when hooked up to another. Is there anything that I can do? I don't have much cash at the minute and am dreading having to get it towed into a dealership to fix it. Surely everytime you run the battery down it doesn't leave you in this situation? Seems a bit ridiculous to me.
Any advice would be massively appreciated.
Cheers,
Colin
