Default exhaust....straight pipe??

I was needing help with what to do. I was going to straight pipe the whole exhaust with no cat and no resinator, 2.5 inch pipe to the muffler...BUT now am wondering if I should keep the resinator and buy a aftermarket megan resinator and still do the 2.5 pipe....dont know....All so wonder which way would sound better...

If you have a stock Protégé w/a 2.0L engine or smaller, I would stay in the 2.25" range.
You will likely be sorry not to have a resonator in the system as it will certainly cut the drone inside the cabin while cruising. Also, eliminating the cat is asking for trouble, imo. If for no other reason than being responsible, than for state inspection. At least consider installing a high flow cat in its place.

I am also moving this thread to the Protégé section as this is the "New Members" introduction forum.

Keep the resonator it's the remedy for drone, once you take them off I can't imagine the sound. It would definitely give me a headache.

I would make sure you check up on your local laws. Around where I live, illegal modification of emissions components is a decent fine. My brother straight piped his accord and ended up with 3 tickets in one month. Each with a fine of $100.
