Default Engine Ground for?

I'm trying to figure out what the top ground is for. Everytime I try to start the car that ground gets extremely hot please help. This is the 2000 Mazda protégé dx 1.6L motor

Doesn't look factory to me so it's anybody's guess.

Mine only has one of these grounds and its the red trace one. Not sure about the other. Try disconnecting it?
