Okay so I have a 2003 protege, with 150,000km on it fresh oil change just before this problem occurred. I was driving on the highway going about 80-90, and it started downshifting automatically and putting my revs through the roof, and the AT light came on flashing on the dash. I want too sell the car but I want too fix this problem before selling it cause everything else is perfect in the car and I don't wanna screw over the person who buys it.

 

When you say fresh oil, dio you mean engine oil or transmission oil?

 

Engine oil.

 

Have the codes pulled. There is one in the PCM if the light came on.

 

That tranny should have had it's oil changed 2 times by now!
