Default Cranks but no start

2002 Protege DX 2.0L w/5 speed.
Cranks but no start. Good spark on all 4 cylinders. Fuel present in rail and in cylinders. New plugs. Replaced fuel pump relay (bad). Fuel pump runs as I can hear it. Knock sensor error in computer cleared. Timing belt checks good. Cleared gas from cylinders, dried plugs and no change. cranks but no attempt to start. Compression seems ok but no tester. Cam and crank sensors could cause a no start? Any suggestions?

You say it has good spark, what color is the spark?

Car ran fine the same day it would not start. The only problem found was the fuel pump relay. That has been replaced. Still won't start. Would a fuel rail pulsation damper cause a no start? The screw in the damper was almost falling out. Is this adjustable?

It could starve it, make sure you are getting proper fuel pressure to it. I question why the relay was an issue.

checked relay and it was not working. Tested and failed. New relay and fuel pump can be heard running. I have fuel in the rail and in cyliners (verified visually) but I have no fuel pressure gage to check actual pressure. Any suggestions?

I still suspect fuel pressure, can you rent/loan a gauge? If the spark color is what you say, that is good. The fuel rail should have a shrader valve that you can plug a gauge into, is this pump original? Again, I question why the relay failed, not saying that they don't, but if the contacts were burned tells me an (possible) issue with the pump.

right. No burned contacts. It just did not work. I will have to see about the fuel pressure check next.
