Changed both coils, that didn't help. Changed the camshaft position sensor and it cleared up immediately.

I drove it all summer (in Florida) without incident.

 

I have same problem. Got the P1345 code last time but had same issue without getting the code. The stall appears to be caused by the fuel pump stopping. I have replace the coils, fuel pump and filter, and the fuel pressure regulator, and the cam position sensor. After cooling the problem goes away. Have had the issue in stop and go traffic, setting at bank drive thru and after starting after setting few minutes.
My particular car is:
99 Protege LX with 1.6 engine.
