Default Clicking noise when decelerating

Hello, My 1994 protege clicks when ever the my foot comes off of the gas peddle. the clicking sound is in sync with the speed of the car. when the car is running faster the clicking is faster. when the car is slowing the clicking slows. The clicking sounds as if it is coming from in front of the driver. The clicking sound is happening when the car is running straight or turning. I do not hear the clicking when I am accelerating. I check to see if something was rubbing on the wheels but they were clear. Any Ideas?

Followup. The clicking noise turned into a loud grinding noise, almost like a circular saw sound. I took it to a mechanic and he said it was the main transmission bearing and I needed to replace the transmission. I had a used transmission installed and this got rid of the sound.

Sounds about right, it was binding up when there was no torque on it.
