Default can you check to see if a computer is bad

these are the codes that i have

p0115 temp sensor the guy that had it b4 me had to replace the timming belt and h2o pump

p0110 IAT sensor

p0120 TPS sensor this checks good, however the 3 wires to it all have voltage and from what i hear thats wrong,
i believe this is the o/d light problem

p1195 air sensor

p1402 aux emissions

p1000 fuel air mixture.

my obd2 will not clear these codes, the high $ mac cannot clear the codes, disconnecting the negative cable and pressing the brake will not clear them as well. so if the tps checks good, and all of the other sensors are causing codes, could the computer be bad and how do I check the computer befor i blow alot of cash.

please help

you should be able to check an OBD2 at the auto parts.

thank you for theresponse, my 1 year old obd2, the mac s high $, and auto zones can not clear them. so i believe that the computer has failed and is causing these network of sensors to show a faulty reading.

Was that a P1000 or P0100 that was stored. P1000 is just a code that indicates codes were cleared and not all of the self tests have been run. P0100 is for the Mass Air Flow sensor circuit fault.
P1195 is actually Boost sensor circuit fault and P1402 is for EGR position sensor circuit fault.

Two questions : Do you have a digital voltmeter or can get one? and do you know where each of the sensors that are giving a code located? That would be the Mass Air Flow sensor, boost sensor. EGR valve, and throttle position sensor.

i do know where these sensors are, and i have a meter. the tps on ohms will read up to 5 ohms as it should wide open, but im getting voltage on all three wires. the air sensor on the breather box checks good as well, it started to cut out on me after about 5 min on a warm up and starves for fuel, blows black smoke then dies when under a load or in park. i have checked all conectors to the pcm, and looked it loosely over for breaks in the curcits, i have someone elses problems that they couldnt fix.

question how can i run a self dio on the pcm.

can i

what other sugestions do you have. the code was p1000

thanks david

if the smoke is more blue-black, you are running rich. if it is more sutty and brown-ish, you are burning oil.
