Default Battery Recommendations for Hot Climates

I have a 2003 Protege and the battery is on its last legs (specific gravity is lower in one cell compared to the others). I live near Sacramento CA. It doesn't get very cold in the winter, but can get very hot (110ºF+) in summer. Also, I sometimes take it to Death Valley in the summer where it gets over 120ºF. Any battery recommendations for hot climates? I've been considering a Sears Diehard Gold South or an Exide Marathon or Nascar Extreme. Exide tested these in taxis in Phoenix and Las Vegas, so that seems like it might be a good choice. Also, I like flooded with caps, as I usually check the electrolyte level once a year, even though these batteries don't require much water.

Also look in to the optima batteries. They make great batteries. Also can be charged without ruining the battery. And has great cranking amps with good tempature ratings. The red top is the best all around. Kinda pricy at around $140 though but worth it. Had mine for 4yrs use isit all year around and in my demo cars too.
