Default aftermarker intake

hey.. before buying a aftermarker intake, there's a mass airflow sensor on the stock intake. i tried putting my brothers aftermarker intake on my 00 protege, the battery light comes on and it's very hard to start my car. then after installing the stock one on and with the sensor connected to that, everything works fine, no battery light and the car starts perfect. i just want to know how i can get an aftermarker intake with the sensor on it. any ideas??? Thanks.

there should be a place to place the MAF sensor on the aftermarket intake...as there was a location on the AEM cai for the MAF on my m3s. is your brothers car also a protege and the same transmission?

aftermarket intakes for our mazdas have slots open on the piping for the MAF sensor to be bolted right up to that new intake. if you don't have that area to place your MAF directly to the pipe, then that intake will through off your readings causing a code to trip the CEL.
