Hi, i recently bought a 97 protege and the car will not start unless i have it plugged in and warms up for a couple hours. The check engine light is on but i haven't had the time or money to go get someone to run the codes for me. Any ideas on what i can do before taking it to someone?

 

autozone will read codes for free south of the border.other chain auto parts stores will also read the codes no charge. will not give read out sheet. mazda dealer will do that for $$$. if you can, go to local reputable autoparts store and ask if they will read the CEL codes for you, the worst thing they can say is no . give it a try.
